I was there to talk about our brand new Taste of Home Cookbook "Cooks Who Care" edition, which went on sale just last week. A cook herself, Kitty was flabbergasted that she'd never heard of Taste of Home. "It's really the largest food publishing company in the world?" she asked. "Wow! Can't believe I haven't heard of it." It's a familiar story. People either know us and love us...or they've never heard of us. So much to learn, these people! Actually, I relish revealing this great big secret to people. After all, what's not to love about it? Great recipes from real home cooks, made with affordable, everyday ingredients and then tested in our test kitchen to make sure they work. Magazines, cookbooks and an awesome web site with more than 40,000 searchable recipes. I ask again: What's not to love if you're a cook? Anyway, I think Kitty will be looking for Taste of Home next time she's at the magazine rack or bookstore. I love this job. So, Cooks Who Care. If you haven't heard of it, here's the story. It started as a column in Taste of Home magazine. We found that so many of you cook not only for family and friends, but for those in need. You put your passion for food and cooking to work to give back to your communities, big and small. Potlucks for the homeless, casseroles to feed the needy, cookies for troops overseas, bake sales to raise money for all kinds of causes. And homemade food can really change a life.
