2009 Oh my gosh, it’s that time of year when the toughest of the Grand Slams is upon us. The US Open is a gruelling two weeks of intense action and long, long, long hours. It’s almost like a four-week event because you have two weeks of day matches and two weeks of night matches. On top of that you have the brashness of New York, where if you ask someone how he’s doing, the answer is probably: “Who wants to know?” And let’s not forget the planes that are frequently flying overhead as they take off and land at LaGuardia Airport which is very close by. It’s tough but that’s what separates it from the other three majors. It’s New York all over. As they say “if you can make it there you can make it anywhere”. Lets start with Andy Roddick. He loves the Open, and so he should, he’s American. Andy was on the late night TV talk show with David Letterman and it was very funny. |
