He may not be Sol Campbell, he is
certainly not Benjani Mwaruwari, but Notts County made another
signing from Portsmouth yesterday when Matt Ritchie, the
19-year-old winger, joined on loan until the end of December. While the rumour mill has been in overdrive with reports that Sven- Göran Eriksson, the club’s director of football, was looking to follow up the signing of Campbell by bringing in Benjani, the former Portsmouth striker, from Manchester City, Fredrik Ljungberg or Christian Vieri, Ian McParland, the manager at Meadow Lane, made his move yesterday.
