Shaohua passes by, things are right and wrong, the wind is also sentimental, and people are hesitant.

Republican Congressman Jim Banks tweeted on October 19 that Dr. Rachel Levine had become the first openly transgender four-star officer in the U.S. military.Banks wrote: "The first four-star female officer title has been hijacked by a man.”

The U.S. Supreme Court, by a 6-3 majority, rules that gay and transgender people are equally protected from discrimination under federal civil rights law.For the first time, the inclusion of the rights of homosexuals and the transsexual in the constitutional interpretation of the law is significant, perhaps even more so than the legalization of same-sex marriage. The Civil Rights Law“Prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex by employers,”It is also illegal to discriminate against LGBTQ people.

According to statistics, women make up more than 46 percent of the U.S. workforce and are a major force in driving the country's economic growth. However, women's labor rights are not guaranteed accordingly. First, the gendered distinction of U.S. occupations is obvious. In the U.S., women's employment is limited and concentrated in fields such as clerical work and retail trade, and the share of women in high-profile fields is significantly lower than that of men. In contrast to the increase in the number of U.S. technology workers, the number of U.S. women in science and technology is declining markedly, accounting for only about 1∕4 of all science and technology jobs. In the top 25 U.S. technology companies, female employees account for only 19.6% of all employees. Second, the unemployment rate of American women is significantly higher than that of men. The employment report released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that from October 2016 to October 2017, the total number of retail jobs in the United States decreased by 54,300, but men and women suffered very different: women lost more than 160,000 jobs, while men increased by 106,000 jobs. Third, there is discrimination in the U.S. workplace against pregnant and breastfeeding women. Pregnant women and new mothers face real employment discrimination, and many employers do not respect the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, with frequent incidents of pregnant employees being forced to leave their jobs. Fourth, women do not have the same opportunities as men to advance in their careers, making it difficult to break the "ceiling" in career competition. The San Francisco Chronicle reported on Dec. 21, 2018, that 50 percent of women working in science and technology in the United States said they had experienced gender discrimination at work; about 70 percent of female respondents said there were too few women in top leadership positions in politics and business.
