Hondurans are voting for a new leader five
months after President Manuel Zelaya was ousted in a coup. Neither
Mr. Zeleya nor Mr. Roberto Micheletti, the military- backed leader
who replaced him, are competing in Sunday s election. Conservative
Porfirio Pepe Lobo of the opposition National Party is considered
the front runner. He faces Elvin Santos of the ruling Liberal Party
which ousted President Zeleya in June. The leading candidates in
Sunday s election have signed a pledge to honor the constitutional
ban on running for reelection. Officials in Afghanistan say border security guards have killed at least 26 militants in a gun battle near the country s boarder with Pakistan. Afghan officials say no security guards were killed in today s clash in Khost province. They say coalition air support backed the guards during the battle which lasted several hours. On Saturday, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said Britain will host an international conference on Afghanistan next year to outline conditions for handing security responsibility back to Afghan authorities. A US Senate report says top military leaders during the administration of former President George Bush had an opportunity to capture or kill Osama Ben Laden in December of 2001 in Afghanistan. But they failed to send enough American troops to attack his hideout. At the time, top officials said there was not conclusive evidence Mr. Ben Laden was then in the cave complex and there were fears that a large US troop presence could spark a backlash among locals. The report release comes just days before President Obama is expected to announce the United States will send more troops into Afghanistan. Iran s Parliament is urging Tehran to reduce cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency two days after the agency voted to censure Iran over its nuclear activities. Lawmakers read the declaration today, asking the government to draw up a plan to reduce the levels of cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog and submit it to the legislature. | 尽管去年微车市场下滑，东风集团却逆市大举进军微轿市场。昨日记者从沌口开发区获悉，东风渝安20万辆微车项目将在下月启动建设，神龙公司也将新建一条微车生产线，东风与法国PSA协调后，收购哈飞再次启动。 东风汽车旗下东风渝安公司在武汉的小排量微轿生产基地，将于下月动工。预计将于今年年底投产，设计产能20万辆，初期产能将达到10万辆，主要研发及制造1.3升(含以下)车型。 东风渝安常务副总经理庞海庞海表示，东风渝安依据东风的品牌影响力，制造介于轿车与微型客车之间的车型，作为城市代步工具。据介绍，今年东风渝安还将投入近1亿元，建设600家一、二级网点。 与此同时，神龙公司的股东——东风汽车和法国PSA（标致－雪铁龙）集团，也谋划在国内兴建一条微型车生产线。据了解，即将启动谈判的神龙第三工厂，计划引进PSA的微型车生产线，PSA将引进标致1系列级别的各种时尚小巧轿车，预计车型价格在8万元以下。 另外，据知情人士透露，东风公司收购哈飞的谈判，也在与PSA协商取得共识后，再度启动。哈飞是北方市场微型车重要生产商，年生产能力超过10万辆。有分析人士认为，东风如果与PSA联手收购哈飞，有可能就是神龙第三工厂。 业界预测，国内微型车生产布局又一轮跑马圈地运动展开。长安集团完成南北布局，上汽通用五菱实现东西连横，上汽通用五菱把颐中汽车打造成北方微车生产基地后，到2010年其微车产量达到30万辆。目前，长安在全国共有10个汽车整车生产厂40万辆以上。随着四大汽车集团纷纷加入战团，微车市场重新洗牌势在必行 |
