As soon as I walked outside, I was greeted with white shimmering blanket of cold. Despite the chill overwheming my skin, inside I was warm. I felt as though I could be giving off heat. I had the desire to stay out in this freeze for hours. It was the type of day that speaks to you through its elements. I took deep breath to hear more snow was coming. As I walked, I looked up, trying to realize what made this day so beautiful, so serene. It was as if time had been put temporarily on hold, and I along with it. Or maybe I was the only one unpaused. Either way, the solitude was comforting, and I sensed myself floating away. I sat down on the edge of the curb and listened. <B>We always convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, than another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more contet when they are. 美国移民局宣布，推出新的网站服务功能，今后更换绿卡申请（Form I-90）和入籍申请（Form N-400）如果超过移民局宣布的处理时间仍未有结果，申请人可以直接上网提交查询申请，移民局承诺在15天作出答复。 移民局改进网上服务是根据奥巴马总统去年夏天的要求，让移民局的顾客更容易了解移民审批审批过程，并及时了解自己案子的处理进展情况。移民局长马约卡斯说：“我们承诺改进案件进展状况的信息准入，并通过有创意的网上功能加强顾客服务。” 今后更换绿卡和入籍申请人在移民局公布处理时间之外仍未收到处理结果的，可以在USCIS.gov上直接向相应的移民局办公室或客服中心提交电子查询，而不必像现在这样打电话或者与移民官预约面谈才能了解自己案件的进展情况。移民局在收到查询后必须在15天内作出答复，比现在缩短15天。移民局说，以后这项服务还将扩展到其它类别的移民申请。 网上服务的另一改进之处是，移民申请人在查询自己案件的处理进展情况时，看到的步骤将是个性化的。移民局网站新为40种申请表格提供个性化的步骤查询，而目前所有申请查询都是7个步骤，虽然有些步骤对某些申请是没用的。 为了适应拉丁裔移民申请者众多的形势，申请者在移民局网站登记接收更新状况的电子邮件，以及在网上更改收件地址时，增加了西班牙语服务。此前这些服务只有英语。 |
