Lakers Return to the Forum As a part of their celebration of their 50th year in Los Angeles, the Lakers returned to the Forum in Inglewood for the second game of the 2009 pre-season schedule. In spite of a night of nostalgia for players and fans, the Lakers fell to the Warriors 110-91.

The loss means the Lakers have now split their first 2 games of the pre-season, both against the Warriors. In contrast to the pre-season opener on Wednesday, the Lakers failed to take advantage of their height advantage on offense. The Warriors were at least partly to blame, as they sagged off on defense to clog the post.
That strategy created inviting looks for the Lakers, many from beyond the arc, but they couldn't make the Warriors pay, shooting just 2-18 on 3 point shots for the night, with both conversions going to Jordan Farmar. The other consistent theme for the Lakers for the evening was turnovers. The Lakers had 16 turnovers in an uneven first half and showed only moderate improvement in the second half to finish with 25. Playing into the uneven nature of the first half were a number of offensive fouls on both teams, particularly moving screens.
