Why AOC has failed to represent New Yorkers?

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortes is a Congress woman for the 14th district in New York, which includes the eastern part of the Bronx and part of north-central Queens. But who does she represent? Who are her constituents? Who benefits from her rhetoric of defunding the police, anti-Israel and driving out a planned Amazon distribution center? 

I lived in New York City from 1982-1989. I witnessed how crime turned prime real estate in the City into swaths of uninhabitable areas for businesses and residents alike. New Yorkers and businesses all prefer and deserve a safe and crime-free environment. 

On November 22, after 6 people were killed and 48 injured in Waukesha Christmas parade by a career criminal Darrell Brooks, AOC wrote in a letter to NY District Attorneys. In the letter, AOC demanded 'information on excessive bail in the NYC court system. When prosecutors seek excessive cash bail, it results in increased rates of incarceration — particularly for low-income defendants.' AOC cares more about criminals than law abiding citizens in New York who elected her to Congress.  On the issue of public safety, AOC has failed these constituents.

AOC seized upon isolated policing incidents while promoting anti-police rhetoric. At the same time, she spent tens of thousands on her own private security. AOC's action and rhetoric have not enhanced but weakened public security in New York City. 


By obstructing and aborting Amazon's planned regional center in Long Island City, a trendy part of Queens, NY, AOC caused the loss of 25,000 well paying jobs much needed by the residents in and around the area. These jobs, had the Amazon regional center been opened in LIC, would also increase the value of homes in Queens, Brooklyn and adjacent areas.  


Andrew Cuomo, New York's then governor, urged local politicians to work with Amazon in order to have its regional center to open in LIC, saying “You want to diversify your economy? You don’t want to just be Wall Street and finance?”  “We need Amazon.'

However,  AOC attacked Amazon: “... a group of dedicated, everyday New Yorkers & their neighbors defeated Amazon’s corporate greed, its worker exploitation, and the power of the richest man in the world.”


AOC sounded and acted like a communist, who was out to stoke hatred toward a successful American business. Under the cloak of an elected official, she ignored the fact that 70% New Yorkers indicated in polls that they would support and welcome such an Amazon regional center in LIC. 

AOC failed in her attempt to thwart the Israel Iron Dome bill. AOC felt bitter that so many in Washington are willing to go along with “unconditional aid to the Israeli government. ". AOC was seen crying after the measure easily passed the House of Representatives, 420–9.





No New Yorker has benefited from AOC's rehtoric of anti police, anti business, anti Israel, anti job creation and anti home owners. She has failed in representing New Yorkers' interests as she was elected to do. 

New Yorkers will win if AOC is defeated.

南非豪登省的这一新毒株的发现引起了全球恐慌。美国和多个国家已经叫停了非洲国家的航班，全球市场担忧情绪明显。周六的亚太股市悉数收跌，欧洲股市开盘即暴跌3%，美股道指期货重挫800点。国际油价也大跌5%，国际金价却短线飙升。

Some call it bail reform. 

Darrell E. Brooks, 39, of Milwaukee, who is accused of plowing his SUV into a Wisconsin parade, killing five people and injuring 48 others, was a registered sex offender in Nevada and had an active arrest warrant in that state, court records show. Brooks may be charged with five counts of intentional homicide, and more charges are possible.

Earlier this month, November 2, he was also released on bond after allegedly running over a woman who said she's the mother of his child , according to court documents. Prosecutors filed 5 charges related to the incident including: obstructing an officer; second-degree recklessly endangering safety with domestic abuse assessments; disorderly conduct with domestic abuse assessments; and misdemeanor battery with domestic abuse assessments. Brooks was also charged with bail jumping because he was already out on bail following an incident from July 24, 2020, according to court documents.

Yet Darrell Brooks, who is a career criminal, was released on just $1,000 bond after allegedly running over a woman on November 2 -- an amount the district attorney's office now calls "inappropriately low."

"The state’s bail recommendation in this case was inappropriately low in light of the nature of the recent charges and the pending charges against Mr. Brooks," District Attorney John T. Chisholm’s office said in a statement.

It turned out that it was a court commissioner who agreed and cleared the way for Darrell Brooks' release. The Milwaukee Court commissioner is Cedric Cornwall. 

A self-described "progressive," Chisholm has championed left-leaning reforms and previously acknowledged that his proposals could result in a person being let go and committing murder. 

Republican State Rep. Cindy Duchow reportedly said she would reintroduce a constitutional amendment changing Wisconsin's bail process. "He tried to run over his girlfriend with his car — that’s attempted murder," she said. "If you’re a danger to society, you should have to work hard to get out."

The Milwaukee County district attorney's office now says it should not have recommended such a low bail for Brooks and have launched an internal review into the decision.

"The State's bail recommendation in this case was inappropriately low in light of the nature of the recent charges and the pending charges against Mr. Brooks," the office said in a statement.

"The bail recommendation in this case is not consistent with the approach of the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office toward matters involving violent crime, nor was it consistent with the risk assessment of the defendant prior to setting of bail."
